7. Mazda Nagare
Nagare (pronounced: na-ga-reh), which means "flow" in Japanese. Described as a "Concept of a Concept", it is the North American Design Studios answer to a challenge posed by Laurens van der Acker, Mazdas new chief of design. The goal of this internal challenge is to see the different ways that motion can be registered on a vehicle, regardless if it is static or moving. To make matters more challenging, the car must also showcase the future styling direction of the brand. In the case of the Nagare, its the year 2020.

3. Chevrolet Volt
The Chevrolet Volt is a plug-in hybrid concept car created by General Motors. However, the company has avoided the use of the term "hybrid," preferring to call it an electric vehicle with a "range extender" due to its design. The vehicle is designed to run purely on electricity from on-board batteries for short trips up to 40 miles (64 km) in the city—a large enough distance to cover the daily commutes of most Americans. With use of a small internal combustion engine hooked to a generator to resupply the batteries, the vehicle's range is potentially increased to 640 miles (1030 km) on the highway.

1. Lexus LF-A
The Lexus LF-A concept was first introduced at the 2005 Detroit Auto Show, but as you can see from our exclusive spy video, Toyota is already hard at work track testing production prototypes. Seen here making the rounds at Germany's Nurburgring test track, this early prototype wears much of the same sheet metal as the show car.
V10 engine, a spec that puts the LF-A in the same league as other notable exotics like the Lamborghini Gallardo and Porsche Carrera GT. Unlike Toyota's Formula One powerplant, however, the LF-A's V10 is expected to displace roughly 5 liters and generate around 500 horsepower. Toyota officials also boasted that a top speed of 200 mph was well within the LF-A's reach.
