Sanyo has announced that they will launch LP-XL50, a front projector that can project 80-inch images from a distance of 49 cm. The distance between the chassis and the wall may be only 8 cm.
The Sanyo LP-XL50 uses an ultra-short focal lens, coupled with a new propriety optical engine. Additionally, there’s a a pair of VGA inputs, component, S-Video, and composite connectors, and a built-in two-watt speaker.
The Sanyo LP-XL50 can be mounted on a wall to project the image downward or placed in front of a wall like any other projector.
The Sanyo LP-XL50 measures 374 x 196.8 x 495 mm and weighs 7.8kg. It will be available from December 21, 2007 in Japan from 600,000 Yen ($ 4,861).
Sanyo will show the short distance projector this month at the infoComm 2007 starting June 19th in Anaheim, CA.
