the iconic McLaren F1, the Caparo T1 is a new uncompromised and unconstrained sports car that sets new boundaries in performance, driver experience and enjoyment. The Caparo T1 has an unrivalled, extremely high speed dynamic performance envelope.

The Caparo T1 is a British mid-engine, rear-wheel drive, two-seater, open-wheel car built by Caparo Vehicle Technologies, (formally know as Freestream), founded by Ben Scott-Geddes and Graham Halstead, former engineers involved in the development of the McLaren F1. The T1 was inspired by Formula One design, and intended as an affordable street legal race car. The T1 is scheduled for production in mid-2007 for a price of GB£180,000 (approx. US$350,000, c.2007).

The Caparo T1 is an ultra-lightweight super which has a greater power-to-weight ratio than the 1000 bhp Bugatti Veyron, two times greater in fact. The first Caparo T1 is due to be unveiled at the Grimaldi Forum in Monte-Carlo (April 20th - 23rd 2006) before an audience of 450 VIP's, including royalty.

The Caparo T1 weighs in under 500kg is a tandem two-seater which is powered by a mid-mounted supercharged V8 developing approximately 500 bhp. This 1000bhp-per-tonne power-to-weight ratio is the Caparo T1's ultimate weapon. A 0-60 run of just 2.5 seconds is expected, and with its race car technology and extensive wind tunnel testing the T1 can generate up to 3G of cornering and braking force.
