Lobini H1 - 2007 Lotus Elise Challenger

Lobini, which was recently bought by Brax Automobile, has presented the new 2007
Lobini H1 at the "Salão do Automóvel 2006". The car has a removable hard-top roof, redesigned front with new headlights and an aerodynamic kit which makes it a very appealing sports car. On the inside the Lobini H1 comes with leather seats available in light gray, dark gray or black.

The Lobini H1 is a sports car offering from Brazil. Work began on the project back in 1998, with the goal of making a competitive sports care using homegrown talent and resources. The first production Lobini H1's were delivered in 2005, and the company hopes to eventually manufacture up to 100 cars per year, while also using some cars for competition racing. The Lobini name is a combination of the owners of the company, José Orlando Arrochela Lobo and Fábio Birolini.

Each Lobini H1 can be personalised on order, with the buyer able to specify exterior color - from over 10,000 options - and an even greater choice over interior materials such as leather and carpeting. Lobini hope no two cars will ever be the same.

The mid-mounted, turbocharged, 1.8 litre, 4 cylinder engine from Volkswagen Brasil Ltd. develops 180 horsepower @ 5700 rpm. Mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox it is capable of taking the Lobini H1 up to 60 mph in under 6 seconds, going on to a top speed of around 140 mph.

The tubular chassis of the Lobini H1 provides support for the composite bodywork and protection for the two occupants, while the one-piece removable roof panel can be stored on the rear deck in good weather.
